Tenacity. Humility.
Passion. Friendship.
These are just a few of the qualities that have endeared Bernie Finkelstein to his music industry peers for almost 40 years in his influential roles of label founder, manager, club owner and executive.
"Bernie can't
lie, and that is his greatest strength," noted singer-songwriter Murray
McLauchlan, former True North recording artist and Finkelstein
management client in tribute to his former manager.
Warm accolades from industry giants as Denise Donlon, Sam Feldman and David Kines were plentiful in a video salute to the founder of True North Records and co-founder of VIDEOFACT, and after an intimate solo performance from client Bruce Cockburn of his instrumental Mistress Of Storms and hit Lovers In A Dangerous Time, Bernie counted his blessings.
"I'm very honoured," said Finkelstein, thanking his parents, wife and sons, as well as acknowledging such former and fellow associates as Sony Music, Universal Music, Bernie Fiedler, Harvey Glatt and Brian Chater.
"I consider myself extremely lucky."
