Great Bruce solo show, lasting about an hour and forty-five minutes not including a 30-minute intermission. Unfortunately, the theatre was only about half full. I usually see Bruce in Maine but he didn't come to Portland this tour, instead playing up in Rockland. This time it was closer to drive down to Newburyport, Mass. I found the audience to be much flatter down there than back home. Very little energy in the room. In Portland, even playing churches with audiences half this size the atmosphere is much more electric (he recorded a lot of Slice of Life in the State Street Church in Portland). Next time I'll stick with a venue in Maine.
