Submitted to the Project by Alan Lonergan, who reports:

In '96, Cockburn was scheduled for two gigs in Ireland. My dad, I and some other hard-core Cockburn fans had to work on those dates, so sadly could not go to see him. But here's where the master-plan came into action: we managed to get in touch with his management and raise the cash between us to get him to come to us. As we worked in a theatre, it was perfect: all we had to do, when the play we were working on finished at 8 o'clock, was somehow get the place ready in 1 hour for the arrival of Cockburn. A mean task indeed, but we made it and the show went on. It was the best day ever, we couldn't believe we'd done it. Got to talk with him, drink wine and eat with him. Exciting times!
