I really enjoyed this show. It was a different experience from when Ben & Steve play because it's more of a rock-ous event (which is great, don't get me wrong!), but it was a refreshing change to experience a quieter pace. Bruce played Wait No More and a couple of other songs more slowly. Julie really shone with her playing and singing, and I thought she complemented Bruce very well.
There is apparently a movement by desperate fans in Santa Barbara for Bruce to come and play there — Bruce thanked them, and I think he mentioned something about a petition! He said he would love to play there, "if I can get someone to pay me! It's really not that much". Someone in the audience shouted, "WE'LL PAY YOU!!"
Someone asked about Iraq, and as he tuned he related the story about the squatters protesting their eviction, who won a one-month extension. Bruce hopes the government will forget about them for another six months.
Bruce was smiling and relaxed — and none of his strings broke — so all in all, it was a wonderful evening.
