(#19) Recording Studios used in Toronto: Manta Sound

Manta Sound

Manta Sound, also known as Manta/Eastern Sound is located at 311 Adelaide St. East.

Upon entering the front door, you get the impression that this studio has done very well for itself. Lots of gold and platinum records on the walls, big facility, nice furniture...

Bruce used this studio for all of his 80's albums, beginning just on the cusp of the 80's with 1979's Dancing In The Dragon's Jaws. Humans, Inner City Front, The Trouble With Normal, World Of Wonders, and Big Circumstance were all recorded here.

This page is part of The Cockburn Project, a unique website that exists to document the work of Canadian singer-songwriter and musician Bruce Cockburn. The Project archives self-commentary by Cockburn on his songs and music, and supplements this core part of the website with news, tour dates, and other current information.
