    COMMENTS/FURTHER INFORMATION

Submitted by Steve Marshall, and Larry Beattie who adds:

The crowd was VERY into Bruce Cockburn and was hanging on his every word. Bruce talked about how a young fan from Canada, who was 12 years old, reminded him about Burn. He said that the audience would not remember what this song was about, then he grinned and said, "Well maybe some of you still do." He introduced Put It In Your Heart as being born from watching TV after the 9/11 events of 2001. And as he was flipping channels saw Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell on the screen at the same time, so he stopped because it was the only thing on TV that was different from what everyone else was putting on which was, "Oh my God, how could this happen." Then he went on to say that Jerry and Pat said that God let this happen to the US because of all the gays and lesbians and abortions, and that shocked him into writing this song. He introduced Sunrise On The Mississippi as being written in St. Louis many years ago.
